Principal's Message - Sept 2020
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. We are excited to be back in the school building and to be back in the classroom with our students.
We have been working very hard to ensure we have our school ready to welcome each and every student with the highest degree of safety for everyone. We have worked together to ensure we have protocols and routines in place for everyone in our building. Although school will look different this year the first thing to note is that your children are our number one priority. This year, more than ever, it will be very important for families and the school to work together as a team. We know there will be bumps along the way as we all adjust and things may change as new guidelines and protocols are put in place by the Ministry of Education and the Huron Perth Public Health unit. We kindly ask that we all respect and have patience with the expectations of this “new normal” and work to keep ourselves and others safe.
Thank you to our custodians, Mr. Ladd and Mrs. MacLeod who have worked tirelessly to create a clean and disinfected learning environment in our building. A big Bulldog shout out to our entire educator staff who have been very busy preparing our classrooms to be engaging learning spaces while maximizing distancing for our students to have a fantastic school year. I always appreciate their commitment to creating engaging learning environments where our students will reach their best potential. A special thank you to Mrs. Lammerant who is the calm, organized and caring face and voice of our office, for all the extra hours, answering questions and ordering supplies for our students...just to name a few of the many things she does in a day.
To our Brookside families...I can't thank you all enough for your patience, your kindness and your flexibility as you have continued to support your children while at home. We are so fortunate to have such a caring Brookside community and I look forward to our continued partnership in the year ahead.
We, as a team, are ready to greet our students with smiling eyes and to work to build relationships, as we support the emotional, social, and academic needs of each student as we renew and build their love of learning.
